Birth Story of Tasha
Tasha
I had Tasha, Sept. 11, 1979. Her sister before her was born breech. So I was hoping she would not be. But throughout my pregnancy with her I had periods. So I was going to the doctor more than usual. In my ninth month I had an ultra-aound done. And they suspected something wrong (the lining was coming away from the placenta). So I was in the hospital when I went into labor. I remember it like it was yesterday. My first labor pain came at 6:00am. I rang for the nurse; she came and said I couldn't be in labor because she was just in to check on me at 5:30 and there wasn't any signs of labor. So I insisted until she checked and sure enough I was already dilated 8 centimeters. She called my doctor but he was still on vacation, so I had to have the intern. He was such a cute and young doctor. He hadn't delivered a baby before; let alone a breech baby. So when I arrived in the delivery room They were doing all their usual stuff to get ready. Even the doctor wasn't ready yet. So I just happened to look at the mirror and saw these two tiny feet sticking out. I told the doctor to turn around and when he did; he was as white as a sheet. And kept repeating, "You're not doing this to me, you're not doing this to me." I told him to get a grip and to get over here and catch the baby. So he did but I could tell that he was going through his mind trying to remember what to do for a breech baby. She was born at 7:05am. She was very blue, because the cord was wrapped around her little neck. So they wisked her off. All I had was a glimpse of her. But when they brought her back to me all cleaned up; it was worth it all. That was 21 yrs ago. Sept. 16 she is getting married. She has a son who is 19 month old and another one on the way. So it is with fond memories that I write this about my "baby"
