Jane at 6 months old

Halfway the first year already!!! Time sure is flying! Jane is still relatively easy, and still sleeps a lot! She has a very mellow character, likes to be carried around, but also is happy to play on her own for a while. She still sucks her thumb, she even will fall asleep, happily sucking it, instead of having to nurse every time! Sure makes life easier for us!

Developmentally, she is doing great. She is mobile, using a combination of rolling and combat crawling to get where she wants. She is really into exploring everything. We now have to watch our water bowl when we are changing a poopy diaper of Tara (we change diapers on the floor). She will try to get there as quickly as possible, luckily she isn't too fast yet :-)

She is still fine when strangers talk to her, responding to them with a nice big smile. But they can't hold her, the only people who are allowed to hold her are mommy or daddy, or one of her siblings. She has a strong preference for mommy, much more than our other kids at this age.

Jane has 4 teeth, but not the ones you would expect. She has the 2 middle lower ones, and then the outer ones in the top half of her mouth! So she kind of looks like Dracula :-) It doesn't seem to bother her. She has figured out how to grind these few teeth, which makes a very annoying noise! She has taken a few bites of solids already, but breast milk is still her main source of nourishment. She sometimes tests her new teeth while nursing, which is not appreciated by mommy....
